Following are the main activities of the Japan Equine Affairs Association:
- Establish programs to spread knowledge on equine matters
- Registration and standing of stallions of non-racehorses (such as Banei racehorse, riding horse, Japanese native horse and horse for agricultural purposes), and matters relating to breeding and improvement of horses other than racehorses
- Matters on increasing use of horses
- Research and examination relating to horses
- Proposal and request on issues related to horses
- Collaboration with members and affiliated organizations
- Other duties required to fulfill the Association's objectives
