FOREIGN ENTRIES - JAPAN CUP

At Tokyo Racecourse

*The following comments are excerpts from quotes given by the connections and transcribed as faithfully to the original text as possible.

INTERPATATION (USA, g7, dark bay or brown)

- jogged 1/2 lap, cantered ~ galloped 1 lap (turf course)
(exercised from 7:31 to 7:40, ridden by Robert Sigouin)

"He's in wonderful condition, I'm very pleased with him after today's training. We were hoping to draw an inner stall, but we just have to do our best with number 15. We won't do any strong work tomorrow, even if we should go out on the tracks."

JUST AS WELL (USA, h6, dark bay or brown)

- walked around stable area only

"He's eating well and he feels good. He's in good form."

(comments taken from Barry Wiseman)

"I'm pleased with the horse's condition. Our draw (no. 7) is ideal since we were hoping for a middle stall. How he'll race will mostly be up to the jockey, but probably he'll sit somewhere from the middle and back and close in on the stretch. I hope there's a fast pace early in the race. They say that it's going to rain on Sunday, but as long as the going isn't too soft, I don't think it'll bother him. We'll just take him out on the dirt tomorrow and do some light work. He doesn't need any more strong work."

(comments taken from Jonathan Sheppard)

MARSH SIDE (USA, h6, dark bay or brown)

- jogged 3/4 lap (turf course), schooled paddock area
(exercised from 8:08 to 8:15, ridden by Marcelino Olguin)

"Considered that he breezed yesterday, I'm pleased with his condition this morning. He was moving very smoothly. I'm happy with stall number 11. After studying what our competition is like, I'll decide on what our strategy will be for the race. What kind of work he'll do tomorrow morning will be decided after seeing how he is this afternoon."

CONDUIT (IRE, c4. chestnut)

- cantered lightly on stretch, walked on backstretch, cantered from 6 furlong pole, galloped on stretch (turf course)
(exercised from 7:11 to 7:27, ridden by Ryan Moore)

"He was a bit lazy this morning, he always is, but he's been through a lot of traveling in a short period. We always knew that it was a tight schedule, we had to try and get him in good shape after the King George for the three races - the Arc (Prix du l'Arc de Triomphe), the Breeders' Cup Turf and the Japan Cup. He hasn't done anything too severe between the races because of all the travel. It doesn't matter if he races going left or right, he's done well in both."

(comments taken from Michael Stoute)

SCINTILLO (GBR, c4. chestnut)

- lightly cantered 1/2 lap, galloped 3/4 lap (turf course)
(exercised from 7:15 to 7:27, ridden by Gerald Mosse)

"The horse is in good condition. This morning, I did a light canter for a mile- stronger in the last 400 meters. He still has a lot of energy left for the race."

(comments taken from Gerald Mosse)

"He's in the same good condition as yesterday. I'm happy with the way he breezed this morning. We've drawn number 12, but since he's a versatile horse, we're not worried. I'm very very pleased with him."
