At Kyoto Racecourse
EVA'S REQUEST (IRE, f4, chestnut)
- jogged appr.500m, walked appr.200m, cantered appr.600m, galloped appr.600m, on turf course
(exercised from 7:15 to 7:24, ridden by Amy Routledge)
"I'm happy with the training she went through this morning. This is the last tune-up she's going to have prior to the race. Tomorrow's work will be very light. Her appetite hasn't changed so I hope she races the way she does back in England. I hope the surface stays the same - with just the right give and that it doesn't get too firm. The forecast says it might rain on Sunday, but a softer going would be no problem for her. I'd like to win wherever we go, and here at Kyoto is no exception."
[Regarding the draw]
"Her stall is too much to the inner side, but I'm not worried about it. I personally think it's a good stall. Our trainer has given instructions that if she's in an inner stall, she is to break well. So I intend to extend those instructions to our jockey Alan Munro."

SAHPRESA (USA, f4, bay)
- walked appr. 800m, jogged appr.1,000m, walked appr.500m, galloped appr.1,000m, on dirt course
(exercised from 7:32 to 7:53, ridden by Vincent Vion)
"I'm happy to see that she is in good condition. We've been saying this everyday, but she weigh's almost the same now as when she's in her best form. We plan to canter her lightly for a lap tomorrow on dirt course.
Olivier has a lot of experience here in Japan and has shown impressive performances in major races. I also understand that he does very well here at Kyoto, so putting all of that into consideration, I decided to ask him to ride our horse. Our filly likes a firm track, so I'm sure she will show us her strength on Sunday. I've heard about some of the strong horses in the field, but I have no doubt that our horse has the same chance to win."
[Regarding the draw]
"Since she gets a bit sensitive when loading, we were hoping for an even number stall - 6 or 8 or 10 would have been better. But we just have to do our best with 15."
