Hong Kong-Japan Tourism Exchange Year 2009

This year, 2009, has been designated "Hong Kong-Japan Tourism Exchange Year 2009" by the Japan Tourism Agency of Japan's Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism Accordingly, the Japan Tourism Agency; Japan National Tourism Organization; Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office Tokyo, Hong Kong Special Administrative Region; and Hong Kong Tourism Board will cooperate in implementing the following measures for mutual attraction of tourists between Japan and Hong Kong.These measures shall be based on exchange between the Japan Racing Association (JRA) and the Hong Kong Jockey Club (HKJC), with which JRA enjoys a close relationship through international horse racing and other endeavors.

1. Dates Japan: Sunday, June 7 Day of the Yasuda Kinen (GI) race Hong Kong: December (TBA) Scheduled for a race day in Hong Kong 　　2. Locations Japan: Tokyo Racecourse Hong Kong: Sha Tin Racecourse (TBA) 　　3. Description 1) Japan: The Hong Kong Jockey Club Trophy Race, an exchange race between JRA and the Hong Kong Jockey Club, will be held as " the Hong Kong Jockey Club Trophy - 2009 Hong Kong-Japan Tourism Exchange Year 2009".   Hong Kong: "The Hong Kong-Japan Tourism Exchange Year 2009 commemorative race "will be held in December.       2) Japan: Hello Kitty, Japan's tourism ambassador to China and Hong Kong under the Visit Japan Campaign, will attend the presentation ceremony for the Hong Kong Jockey Club Trophy Race.   Hong Kong: Prize presenter (TBA)       3) Japan: Hong Kong tourism and racing booth will be held at near the main entrance of Tokyo Racecourse.   Hong Kong: Establishment of a booth presenting Japan and Japanese horse racing. Japan tourism and racing booth will be held at HKJC racecourse (TBA).       4) Japan: Creation and promotion of tours from Hong Kong to support Hong Kong horses in Japan.   Hong Kong: Creation and promotion of tours from Japan to support Japanese horses in Hong Kong.     5) Promoting "Hong Kong-Japan Tourism Exchange Year 2009" and Japanese/Hong Kong horse racing by both Japan and Hong Kong via Turf Vision and ITV.

Reference Visit Japan Campaign Japan’s public and private sectors are joining hands to promote the Visit Japan Campaign as a means of internationally communicating Japan’s attractiveness as a tourist destination and creating attractive travel products to Japan. The ultimate goal of the campaign is to increase the number of overseas visitors to Japan to 10 million by 2010.
