<at Nakayama Race Course>
March 25, 2009 (Wednesday)
GINOLAD (AUS, g9, dark bay or brown)
- did 7 jumps over 5 obstacles (No.4, 5, 1, 2, 3, twice over No.1 and 2) and practiced banks over the steeple chase course - ridden by Craig Durden from 7:39 to 7:53
"I jumped all of the jumps today, especially the ups and downs, and it was good work. After that he felt really good of himself. It's very different for him to work without other horses, but he felt more confident going towards the fences after he'd done a couple of jumps and I was happy with him. I'd be very happy if he's in the same confidence level tomorrow. He's a strong jumper - he's a stayer, and he has good stamina. Once he adjusts to the jumps here, I think everything should be pretty right. He will definitely benefit from his experience in the Pegasus and the training on the tracks, as he'll be more accustomed in his challenge in the next race (Nakayama Grand Jump)."

"Fitness is not a problem for him - he was very fit when he left Australia. He ate well last night, his temperature is fine. We're going to ask him to do a medium gallop tomorrow - maybe two or three jumps, especially the dips. If he's unsure of the dips it will probably take away the momentum and he could lose many length very easily. Hopefully by Saturday he'll be happy to go down the dips at a strong speed."
