Karasi is out of the Nakayama Grand Jump

March 27, 2008 (Thursday)

Details of KARASI's injury

Karasi (IRE, g13, bay), who was scheduled to run in the Pegasus Jump Stakes on Saturday (March 29, 2008) and the Nakayama Grand Jump (J-G1, April 19, 2008), was diagnosed after examining with a scanner today to have developed tendenitis of the superficial flexor tendon in his right foreleg.

His connections have therefore decided to withdraw the gelding's entry in both races.

"He was going so well, but I have no choice but to withdraw him from the race. I think that he will now retire. I am grateful to everyone in Japan that had been so helpful to us."

"He seemed to have put his foot in a soft spot at about 100 meters to go in his gallop (on the turf). He was in such good form.I'm terribly disappointed that he can't run in the race."
