TAKEOVER TARGET (AUS, 7g. bay)

-- jogged 1 lap, lightly cantered 1 lap
(exercised from 7:46 to 7:57 on dirt, ridden by Luke Pepper)

"After racing here in Japan for the first time at the Centaur Stakes, I've found out that the level of the Japanese horses are much higher than I thought. The horse who came the first, SHE IS TOSHO, was really good." "The turf is in about the same condition as it is in Australia, so the surface won't be a problem for the horse."
"I would prefer doing exercise more on the turf because training on the dirt isn't good for the horse's back."
"The right handed course here at Nakayama will probably suit him better than the left handed course at Chukyo."
"Tomorrow we plan to do a strong canter on turf, as planned."

SILENT WITNESS (AUS, 7g. bay) was transferred to the International Stables of Nakayama Racecourse this morning, leaving the Shiroi Quarantine Facilities at 10:55 and arriving at the racecourse at 11:35. Comments from the connections taken upon arrival are as follows;

"The traffic was light and we arrived here smoothly this morning."
"At Shiroi, we have kept strong workout to sharpen him up for a couple of days, but we'll keep things light for him tomorrow. The day after that (Sept. 28) we intend to gallop him after some starting gate practice. Anthony Cruz, the trainer, will be here tomorrow morning."
