He arrived at Longchamp at 7:00am accompanied by his stable mate PICARESQUE COAT. They appeared on the track at 9:40am, walked past the winning post and cantered to the starting point of 2400m. A lead horse went in front and DEEP IMPACT followed him two lengths behind, with PICARESQUE starting some way back. DEEP IMPACT ran on the outside after the final bend and Yutaka Take pushed him a little to go two lengths clear of the lead horse at the finish. Timings are as follows: 50 secs for final 4f, 38 secs for 3f and 12 secs for 1f.

Yasuo Ikee, Trainer of DEEP IMPACT said;

‘I was surprised to see so many people had gathered at the racecourse. We are quite happy to have such a good weather and good going. We are satisfied with today’s work. I would to like to thank all the people for their help. This is a good preparation for the Arc. Today’s sectional times are as we have planned. He is in a better condition compared to the last summer, which he spent in Sapporo, on the northern island of Japan. Everything has been going well so far. There is nothing more to ask him to do. With only 18 days to go, I hope everything goes well with him. I think the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe is the most prestigious race in the world and I hope we have a good result.’

Yutaka Take, Jockey of DEEP IMPACT said;

‘I am quite satisfied with him today. He was looking around at first, but then focused on the gallop. This is a good preparation for him. DEEP IMPACT has been doing very well. So now I have to also be ready for the Arc. I think today’s schooling was quite successful and as I have absolute faith in the stable staff, I have nothing more to ask. I agree with Mr Ikee in that Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe is the most prestigious race in the world. So I hope we have a good result. The only worry is the jockey!’
