RESULT OF THE 41ST CBC SHO (GII)

SYMBOLI GRAN landed his first grade-race victory in this year's CBC SHO (GII) which took place after being postponed for six days due to heavy snowfall last week-end at Nagoya. It was the fifth win out of 17 career start for the Irish-bred Grand Lodge colt who had come off a win in his last start together with winning jockey Davy Bonilla.
The race broke off with GALLANT ARROW spurting forward for the early lead with NAZO close behind on the outside, DEEP SUMMER saved ground in third position while LOHENGRIN advanced along the outside in fourth. SYMBOLI GRAN was never far behind in mid field, while SHE IS TOSHO raced along the rail at his heels. KANETSU TENBY, who took some effort to load into the starting gate, was reserved near the rear along the backstretch. The field swarmed into a bundle coming towards the turn for home and SHE IS TOSHO angled out coming around the fourth corner to launch her bid, assuming command soon after leaving the furlong pole. SYMBOLI GRAN who was at her heels from the head of the stretch vied for the lead in the last few strides joined by KANETSU TENBY who came surging from behind on the outside for the three-horse-rally.
